FUE Technique
What is FUE technique?
FUE technique (Follicular Unit Extraction), entails collecting follicle units from areas with good hair density, those we call donor area. These are removed with a round surgical knife called punch that can be from 0.7 to 0.9 millimeters, just enough space to remove follicle units, and can be manual or have a micro engine.
It is important that the surgeon is experienced and skilled.
Benefits of FUE technique:
No scars are left in the donor area since follicles are collected randomly, loss of density is barely noticeable, and recovery is fast.
Incisions must always be done by a doctor.
When will I see the final look of the transplantation?
The transplanted hair will fall after a few weeks. This is something desirable and completely normal, it means that the transplantation is working. The hair follicle is the structure of the hair and that will still be implanted. That is the real aim of our work.
The implanted grafts will initiate their regular growing cycle from 5 to 6 months after the hair transplantation. That is the moment when the results will start to be visible. From 12 to 15 months after the surgery, the result starts to be completed.
Shall I have my head before the treatment?
To identify correctly all the follicular units, we normally must shave your hair. However, we do that in the clinic the very same day of the surgery.
The day of the procedure, and before entering to the surgery room, we shave the donor area.
Does FUE technique leave scars?
Circular micro scalpels are used for the extraction. Their diameter goes from 0.7 millimeters to 0.9 millimeters and their tip is empty.
These scalpels leave tiny holes that will cicatrize after 7 days. Then, they are completely imperceptible.
